Changing Job Owner information RRS feed

  • Question

  • User submissions are queued up and they are submitted to hpc cluster from multiple agents. All the jobs are submitted to the hpc cluster using a specific user account.

I want to pass the actual user name so that I can see in HPC cluster/Job manager. Owner property is readonly and UserName property is read/write but it does not show up in the column chooser.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

  • You have to be logged to specific user account and run your tasks from within this account to see user name that run the tasks.

The easiest way is to login to your USER account  by executing command : "runas /user:USER@DOMAIN cmd"

You will be asked for password and after successful authentication a new consle will be opened (which owner is USER). If you run your tasks from this console you will see you user name in the Cluster Manager. Just type "job submit test".

A more proper way would be to impersonate your server (agent) to act as USER not the original owner (probably domain administrator) but this is a complex problem.
