0x80080205 Validation fails with administrator account

Question

Hi!
I have a customer computer where validation suddently fails with the errorcode 0x80080205. I have read the Microsoft pages which says this is due to insifficient privilegies, but I'm using the local Administrator accouns, so this is not correct. I've run the selfdiagnostic tool for windows genuine advantage, and the computer passes all the tests.
I've tried reinstalling Internet Explorer 7 by downloading it again from Microsoft Download and running the installer.
I'm at a loss here, please help. We would have reinstalled this DELL OEM computer if the customer hadn't lost the installation CD's... sigh..

E.R.,
The diagnostic report indicates that this version of Windows XP or older is an unsupported version with regard to windows genuine advantage issues. The supported versions as of now is Windows XP Professional, Home, Tablet, and Windows Media Center. Do you know which operating system you have on the machine?
