  • Jack Barnes,

It would appear that the upgrade was not successful, which does occasionally happen.

Please backup and offload any data that you want to save and do a clean installation of XP Pro.  Here is a good tutorial:  http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html

  • Thanx guys I got a fix further down the listings from burneh 9/3/07 the problem was IE7. As I had 8 PC's to update this was the easiest and quickest.

  • Hi Jack,

In  agree with Dan's suggestion, but please note: If you need any additional help with your non-WGA Windows XP issue(s), I would suggest posting your questions in the Windows XP Forum at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/newsgroups/reader.mspx

  • Jack Barnes,

We have seen some posters who experience a blank or nonfunctional Product Activation Wizard, which as it turns out was caused by not restarting the computer immediately after installing IE7.

Could that have been the problem in your situation?
