Hangs during complete scan RRS feed

  • Question

  • Please help.  I am unable to do a complete scan.  It hangs at about 35% complete.  There is no error message.  Quick scan works without a problem.  Scans for virus and malware on online scan from another product shows no infection.  I am also running Spyware Doctor, but turn it off before a scan.  I have no other issues with OneCare.  I am running XP Media ed. SP3.  I do not have Email viral infections as I am really careful

  • Try excluding Spyware Doctor from the scan. To exclude a folder open One Care>Change Settings>Viruses and Spyware>Exclusions>Add Folder. Browse to the Spyware Doctor folder. The path to the folder should be C:\ProgramFiles\Spyware Doctor or C:\ProgramFiles\PC Tools. Run a full scan again. If the issue persists please contact support. • Jim, your suggestion worked perfectly, thank you.  I presume that the OneCare scanner was choking on quarantined malware in the Spyware Doctor folder.
