  • hi all, i bought my laptop 2 months back, when i open any microsoft sofware it askes me about the product key, then i found that the product key is written on the back of my laptop and its a 25 character, but my problem its not working i dont know why?

  • Hello Ahmadcivil,

    Your new laptop most likely came with a Trial of Office 2010 (or maybe 2007).  These Trials are generally good for 60 days and then, unless you purchase a product key and activate the product, go into a reduced functionality mode where they can dispay and print documents already on the computer, but they will not edit existing docs or create new ones.

    The product key on the Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) on the computer is for Windows, not Office.

    If you want to continue to use the installed Office with full functionality, please purchase a product key for the edition of Office you want either directly from Microsoft or from a trusted local or online retailer.
