  • Hello bhart22,

Looks like you upgraded yourself right out of your Gateway OEM license for Vista Home Premium.

You are attempting to install a Gateway OEM SLP license for Vista Home Premium on a non-Gateway computer.  This is a violation of the OEM Software Licensing Terms, which state that an OEM license for Vista is valid only on the computer onto which it is first installed, and is not permitted to be moved to any other computer.

By upgrading the motherboard, you have created a new computer.

In order to run Windows on this new computer, you will have to purchase a new license for the version and edition of the Windows of your choice and install that license on this new computer.
