    ever since i was prompted to change my windows live id password, i can't log into my money plus account. i backed up my data the last time i closed out so i put it on my external hard drive and then uninstalled money plus so that i could download money sunset, which i did, but i am still not able to log in. what can i do? i am even willing to buy a new money program since i have enjoyed this one for so long for free. but i don't want to buy anything from microsoft unless someone can confirm that i will be able to import my data from money plus and be able to log in without these problems.

    You may be able to get into your file with your current installation.  Disconnect from the Internet.  Pull your ethernet cable or turn off your modem -- whatever it takes.  Start Money, and click below the password field to select "I want to sign in to Money directly, without access to all online services." then click Next. You must use the credentials in effect when  he file was saved. Do not use the new password, but use the old one.

    I you get into your file, remove your LiveID.  Do not attempt to change your LiveID.  To remove the Live ID, go to File-PasswordManager, and choose to remove your LiveID.  To remove or add a conventional password, also see File->PasswordManager.
