HP Recovery partition not working after upgrading to vista Ultimate. RRS feed

    Hello there everyone.

    My HP Pavillion desktop PC came with two hard-drives and one patition which contained the system recovery files.
    It orignally had Windows XP installed, and I purchased a copy of Windows Vista Ultimate. I installed vista so that all the original programs were lost [clean install]. But there are some pre-installed programs that I require.
    However, pressing F10 seems to have no effect and I cannot seem to run system recovery.

    When the partition is viewed in my computer, it is as it has always been however on opening it, it is empty. I have tried to view hidden files, but they are not there either.

    If anyone could please tell me where I can find information regarding this issue, I would be very much grateful.
