  • If you have everything configured properly it should happen automatically.  Take a look at the following post for the process:

  • Thks for your reply, but I didn't manage to update my phone because it appears to be a minimun version (1.0.522.101 (1.23)) to use the new fonction of R2 (device updater) or my phone has the 1.0.199 !
How I do update my phone in this case ?

In the filter version under OCPhone
        Here is the properties

    Actions :
    Allow and upgrade

    Folder contains the upgrade :

    D:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2\Web Components\DeviceUpdateFiles\DeviceUpdates\UCPhone\Microsoft\CPE\A\ENU\1.0.522.101 or 3.5 \CPE

In the Device Updater, I put the both versions (1.0.522.101 and 3.5)

    Thks in advance

  • You should try updating to 522.101 in an OCS R1 environment. In such old versions you need to import root ca certificate via USB stick (or network) first. Very ambitious project all in all :-)

  • Hi

Did you succeeded to upgrade your .199 Tanjay ?

I've tried as you screen shoted to change the client filter to update an old .199 version with R2 update server: when I try to log into R2 with this version, the domo.exe through an exception.

  • This is insane.  There has to be a process for updating the firmware in a new R2 environment.  I just got some CX700's and they are for a customer that has an R2 environment already.

  • Hi,

Stumbled on this post and I can tell you how I did it.
In my environment the R1 was also phased out and I still had several CPX700 in beta release on the shelf.
I altered the client version filter settings in the following manner:
    User Agent Header: OCPhone
Version: 1.0.199* (is the version my beta release CPX's were running)
    Check: <=
    Action: Allow

Then i pluged in the phones and had to redo the power off and plug in again to be able to log on.
When the phones are finaly logged on to the system they receive the update package. Just be patient since this takes quite some time.

I don't remember exactly but try
    domain\username and
    username@domain.name in the credentials.

    hope this helps
    wimos
