CRM 2011: Attaching calls' audio/mp3 files in notes - Pros and cons RRS feed

  • HI All,

    I need to know pros and cons of keep our calls' mp3 files in Notes.

    Do you think it is feasible? Can affect the Database badly?

  • Hi Hassan,

    Adding audio files will definitely increase db size and you will start facing performance issue after some time, so the best option will be look for other options like SharePoint or use store it in your network device.

  • Hi Hassan,

    I do agree with Mahendar. You have to use CMS system to store these files. You can even go for hybrid approach. Attach mp3 files to notes in CRM but do archive them on monthlt/yearly schedule. create windows service to archive these files and attach a link back to notes.
