I am confused by what appears to me to be duplication of forums under different names and the difficulty of finding the right forum relating to an issue. For example the following URL is for Microsoft Office Customization and Programming
http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/officeprog/threads?prof=required
The following is for Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/isvvba/threads
Surely both of these forums deal with the same issues so why have 2 separate forums? it makes it difficult to decide which one to use for an issue and it also splits the people who provide answers if they do not monitor the multiple sites concerning the
same issues and this in turn reduces the probability of getting the correct answer.
Currently the Home page of the forums is far too general for finding the right forum for an issue. Perhaps what is really required is a page where users can search for forums related to their questions. Something similar to the tree method that was used
in the old News Groups whereby the users select Microsoft Office and it expands into the Office applications then select and application and it expands into the various forums dealing with the selected application.
