XP Home will not activate

I used a Dell XP Home Disk to reinstall XP Home on a Sony PC and it worked fine. The only problem is the Software will not activate using the product key on COA Label on the bottom of the PC. Help!

Not surprising - the install disk is locked to the manufacturer. You need to reinstall using an MS System Builder OEM install disk (which will reformat your drive) or the original Sony Recovery disks (or the Sony recovery partition if it still exists).If you don't have them - you should be able to get a set from Sony for a reasonable sum.
