Make the screen go black after 30 minutes

  I have Windows 7 and have many family pictures that I use as a screensaver. My problem is I can't get the screensaver to shut off after 30 minutes and have the screen go black. I am always having to turn the monitor off to keep the pictures running all day or as long as the computer is on. Resetting the defaut settings doesn't work either. Any suggestions?
