Need to know if key is legit RRS feed

  • Question

  • I checked the windows validation site and it gave me a thumbs up. But the PID looks like it may indicate an issue (MSDN key). Please check to see if I need to alert ebay regarding fraudulent seller. The mgadiag output follows:

It is an MSDN key (068 in the Product ID is always MSDN.)

  • I have purchased a retail packaged Win7 Ultimate. Do I just change the activation key on my installation? I'd prefer not to have to reinstall the package again.

    Thanks in advance.

You should be able to do that with no problem - however, be aware that no-one can guarantee that your previous install is free of malware, so the best option is to reformat/reinstall.
From where did you purchase the new package?

  • The actual software for the installation came from the digital river link. The new package came from an retail outlet.

  • In that case, you should be fine.
