I have a Toshiba Satellite A135-S4487 laptop. Had Vista 32 bit installed on it but had to do a recovery. It failed. Now, the DVD-Rom will not start up with either the Vista (recovery or retail) disc nor Windows 7. It however does pick up on XP Pro
disc. I purchased Windows 7 Professional in hopes it would boot up. HELP !!!
If the DVD Drive is messed up your best bet is to install Windows 7 from a USB stick. Obviously you'll need another computer to create the USB stick on, and you'll need to set USB as the default boot device.
