  • Question

  • Hi,

We have been able to access CRM on http, while https it is throwing a exception that as below:

    An error has occurred.

Try this action again. If the problem
continues, check the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Community for solutions or contact
your organization's Microsoft Dynamics CRM Administrator. Finally, you can
    contact Microsoft Support.

    System.NullReferenceException: Object
reference not set to an instance of an object. at
    Microsoft.Crm.MainApplication.Application_Error(Object sender, EventArgs
    eventArguments)

We even checked on the bindings too and it is fine.

Could anyone help me on this issue.

  • HI Shobha,

Do you have the https set in the CRM deployment manager?

I am attaching an image to help you find this setting.

  • Hi dsinay,

We have the setting already done that is been told above. But even then we have issues.

There was ADFS authentication problems. Somehow the server had duplicate SPN Registered, one for the crm admin user and other one for the server. They were causing Kerberos authentication to fail and hence ADFS wasn't able  to authenticate users.  We fixed that and reconfigured IFD for CRM. The only problem that we are gettin now is when going to CRM using port 444 (https://abx.org.com:444) we are getting an exception. It's working fine on http port 5555. I think its happening because when adding CRM's Relying Party trust in ADFS the last rule for 'Windows Account Name' should be outgoing as "Name", in ADFS we can only find " “* Name”. I am not sure why ADFS doesn’t show me Name but I think ADFS 2 has it this way. If you know why this is happening and how to fix it, that’d be awesome and should restore complete CRM functionality.

Please let us know if you have any input.
