Unable to run Data Migration Wizard,getting error "Failed to determine the SQL data root path for CRM instance RRS feed

  • Hi,

    I am unable to run Data Migration Wizard,getting below error:-

    Microsoft SQL server 2005 "Failed to determine the SQL data root path for CRM instance"

    Below are the configuration details:-

    1. OS Windows XP
    2. DM & CRM version matches "4.0.7333.3"
    3. SQL server 2008 DB is on seperate machine
    4. Roll-up for DM 4,6,7,10 are installed
    5. "ShareForRemoteSQL"Key present in registry with "APPdata" value
    6. Outlook is not running
    7. Do not exist any Migration DB in SQL DB

    Please help.

  • Hi,

    It seems that, Configuration of DMM (after the DMM installation) will fail if DMM is using a 64bit SQL Server 2005.
    Therefore, the option is to either install DMM using the SQL Server Express option or install DMM using a 32bit SQL Server for now.
