AVG Anti Virus Conflict RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm running Vista Business on a Lenovo X61 with One Care installed. Somehow, AVG 7.5 got installed, and now it apparently conflicts with One Care. I want to remove AVG, but It's not visible on the system. Can anyone help?

    Thanks,

  • Grisoft does not have an uninstall tool that I can find so I suggest uninstalling One Care, go to - http://free.grisoft.com/ww.download ,download and save to your desktop the appropriate version of AVG. Run the installer and it should give you an option to uninstall AVG. Reboot and install One Care.

  • Sammy, help me help you. Do you have AVG installed? Do you have One Care installed? Please describe the "autoplay thing" when you see it, and any details such as is it triggered by any specific action such as opening a certain program connecting a hardware device, when you start your computer, etc. Please explain the "scans", what you believe is being scanned and what program might be performing the scans. Did anything change just before you began to see this issue such as installing new software or downloading a file?

  • To uninstall AVG first try to uninstall using add/remove programs. If AVG is not listed in add/remove programs download AVG and save it to your desktop - http://free.avg.com/ww.download

Double click the downloaded file and you should be presented with three options:

    1. Add/remove components.

    2. Repair installation

    3. Uninstall

Select uninstall and AVG should be removed from your computer.

TO uninstall Comodo antivirus first try to uninstall it using add/remove programs. If Comodo is not listed in add/removeprograms use the manual removal instructions here - http://forums.comodo.com/index.php?/topic,887.0.html
