On Automatic Windows Upgrade, my copy of VISTA does not seem to be valid any more RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have had my Lenovo laptop for about two years, and Windows Update has been running normally for all of that time.

Today after a restart, it told me to validate Windows Vista, and rejected the code printed on the label on my laptop.

The MGA diagnostics came out as follows:

For some reason, the OS is unable to properly read the BIOS SLIC table on which  it depends to self-activate.

You say that when you enter the COA Key from the label, it fails? - what's the EXACT failure message?
Use the Change Product Key link at the bottom of the System Properties page to change the Key and then activate by telephone.
