*Not genuine after 3 years

Question
-
I have Vista on my laptop since I got it 3 years ago with no issues. For the past couple of months it has told me that copy of windows is not genuine. The stickers are so worn on the bottom of my laptop that I can only make out a few numbers. Thank you in advance.

For some reason, the OS is unable to properly read the SLIC table that should be present in the BIOS. This table is required, in order to be able to self-activate the OEM_SLP Key in use here.
You need to change the Key to the one on your COA sticker, using the Change Product Key link on your System properties page - you may need to activate by tlephone.
