Hi-  I ran the diagnostic report above as advised under responses to similar questions.  I recently re-installed the entire operating system and Microsoft Office 2003 onto my computer.  The trial version of Office 2003 has since expired and now it will not accept the product key off the certificate of authenticity when I try to convert from the trial to full product.  Please advise.

I am also considering just upgrading to Office 2007 from the online store.  If i do this, will I need to uninstall 2003 first (will it give me similar problems if I try to upgrade without removing the old office?)

  • Hello G. Brown,

You cannot expect to convert a Trial for Office Standard 2003 into a perpetually licensed product using a Product Key for OneNote 2003.  They are two completely different products.

According to the info on this page http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/products/FX101754511033.aspx, your installation of Works 7.0 will serve as a qualifying product to support upgrading to any retail Office 2007 product.

  • Hello G. Brown,

What is the name of the product that is on the CoA from which you are getting the product key that you are entering into Office?

  • Hi Dan,

The Cert of Authenticity shows it is for "Microsoft Office OneNote2003".  I also have a trial cert for "Microsoft Works 7.0 and Microsoft S&T Edition 2003 Trial."
