MMC missing after re-install RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I did below steps:

    1. Deactivate the roles via the OCS 2007 R2 MMC.
    2. Uninstall OCS 2007 R2 via ARP.

    3. reinstall OS, map same ip and join domain.

    3. Install OCS 2007 R2.

After installed new copy of OCS 2007 R2. There are no MMC in Program/Administrative Tools. Any steps I missed?

As checked Google for OCS 2007, can use commands to deactivate. Will OCS 2007 R2 can use same commands? ( http://blogs.pointbridge.com/Blogs/schertz_jeff/Pages/Post.aspx?_ID=31 )

  • So did you install the Administrative tools?

You need to install Administrative Tools separately
You will find the Administrative Tools installation link on the right hand side of the OCS 2007 R2 setup screen

If you want to use ADUC then you must install it on your Windows 2008 OCS server (Server Manager / Features / Remote Administration Tools)

  • Hi,

Besides in our production environment, we build a clean environment for testing, issue persist.

    We test by below steps:

    1. We install 1 w2k3 32bit and 1 w2k8 64bit

    2. install domain controller () , certificate authority in windows 2003 32bit

    3. w2k8 joined domain

    4. w2k8 install iis7

    5. w2k8 install mssql 2008 64bit

    6. w2k8 install OCS 2007 R2 64bit

    Result:

All steps in "Environment Preparation" and "Add Enterprise Edition Server to Pool" were done. however there are no "Enable user for Communication Server" in w2k8 "Active Directory User and Computer" mmc and "Office Communication Server 2007 R2" mmc do not exists in Administrative Tools in w2k8.

Hope above info can help you find out what happened.
