ClientSyncProvider for PCs RRS feed

  • Question

  •  How can i use sqlexpress hosted in a local terminal as a localprovider instead of Windows mobile devices database? I have noticed that there's no default ClientSyncProvider implementation for PCs. Any help will be highly appreciated.

  • Hi,

In general, the design of the Sync Framework abstracts its services from the hardware they run on and even the software they interact with.

The ClientSyncProvider is an abstract class that serves as the base for specific implementations, like the one in the SQLExpress example.

To answer your direct question, the provider for SQL 2008 CE, that comes ready right out of the box, does work on PCs as well as other providers implemented on top of ClientSyncProvider.
