    What are these files that are named like "$MSI31Uninstall_KB893803v2$" that appear in the Windows directory and can they be deleted?

    Hey Randy

    Yes they can be deleted. They are old update files and are left behind after the update.

    Note that although these can be deleted, if you are not pressed for space, you should consider leaving them where they are. Some updates will expect the install file for a prior update to be present. The recent wave of .Net Framework security updates is one example.
