Is there a DEV license facility for CRM 4.0?

Question

Howdy!
We have recently deployed Dynamics GP, and I liked the <TEST> company that allows you to play around or host a company on a development server without allocating licenses to the company. Does CRM 4.0 have that facility? Speficially, I maintain a development server to test things on before deploying to production. Is there a way to license the development environment without eating away our licenses? Perhaps a license code for dev environments?
Thanks

Technically, there aren't any "free" licenses with DynCRM. But, you have a few options.
1) If you have MSDN, you can install a MSDN license that supports up to 10 users
2) DynCRM user licensing is tied to the end user, regardless of the number of servers/organizations that have been isntalled. So, as long as the same users also use the dev image, they won't need additional user licenses, though additional server licenses would technically be required.

I think most people maintain a Dev environment for CRM testing and since it is not used for 'general' user access (production), licensing is not an issue.

Hi Dan,
You can download a 90 trail from microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=a9c110fd-aac8-4d2a-b401-7801b1866e82
and CRM 4 dev licenses are included as part of an msdn subscription:
