Windows 7 XP Mode Genuine Advantage Validation fails RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have Windows7 Pro 64-bit. I bought this from Newegg as OEM. I had to reformat and install Windows again a while back because of a dead RAID drive, and though I was previously able to install XP Mode with no problems, now it says my validation fails... this despite my Windows 7 activating successfully.

I ran the utility I've seen mentioned throughout the forum and got this back:

I do a lot of development work for the web and XP Mode was what allowed me to accurately test IE6. Any ideas what the problem here is?

  • You can reactivate your Windows 7 installation by performing the following:

    1. Click on the Start button and in the Start Search box type in:  slui.exe 4

    2. Press the Enter key on your keyboard.

    3. Select your Country.

    4. Follow the instructions for phone activation (no charge).

  • The OS reflects as being activated, however it is not validating for some reason and the HROnline error section just reads N/A. I suggest you attempt to validate at www.microsoft.com/genuine and notate any errors (take a screen shot if it will help).

    Thanks

    Carl

  • When I visit the above address, I get this error code on the page:

    [0x80080100]

I also tried reactivating via phone, and once again, it was successful. Then after re-visiting the genuine URL above, i got the same error code.
