SQL Encryption For CRM 2013 Issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

    I am using CRM 2013.

    I took a Organization Org1 backup from the SQL Server and restore the Org1 backup in another SQL Server.

    Now I imported the organization using the same database.

    Everything is configured correctly, but when i am trying to change the emailid for the user it is giving me error

    Unhandled Exception: System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[[Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.OrganizationServiceFault, Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk, Version=6.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35]]: Cannot open Sql Encryption Symmetric Key because Symmetric Key password does not exist in Config DB.Detail:
    <OrganizationServiceFault xmlns:i="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/xrm/2011/Contracts">

      <ErrorDetails xmlns:d2p1="http://schemas.datacontract.org/2004/07/System.Collections.Generic" />
      <Message>Cannot open Sql Encryption Symmetric Key because Symmetric Key password does not exist in Config

    I have checked and find that a new SQL Encryption is introduce in CRM 2013.

    As per the blogsI found that I need to take the Encrption Key from Org1 and Paste the same key on newly configured Org to work with the new Org.

    but my Org1 it not configured for https,  So i can not get thg Encryption key for that.

    Please let me know how i can resolve this issue.

    Thanks
