Restore Can't continue RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to restore a back up made on my former compter that used XP to my new computer using Windows 7. Unfortunately when I try to restore the remaing 8.3 GB left to restore it tells me that the restore can't continue as there is not enough free space left on drive(s) D:\4.6gb.

Files left to restore are 22923 (8.3 gb)

To drive: C:\(3.7gb reguired, 515gb available)

                  D:\(4.6gb required, 1.6gb available)

Total of space for D is 10.9gb

What can I do to restore the remaining file.

    Thanks

  • If the D:\ drive is an OEM recovery partition you should not restore files there. If the D:\ drive is a partition you created you can go into Disc Management and expand the partition. Probably the best option would be to perform a custom restore, restore all the files to a folder on your C:\ drive then drag and drop the files to where you want them to be.
