Is there any type of "bulk edit" function or something already written in powershell? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a custom field that need to be change (to an attribute already on the look-up table) on many projects.  Is there any type of bulk edit function for custom fields?

    Thank you,

  • Hi Sandy,

Since you are trying to change only one Custom Field, you could potentially write a SQL script to change the field value for all the items. Powershell would not be required as such.

    Thanks, A

  • Hi Sandy,

I used PSI to update project custom field values for single project.

You can create a console application and loop through all the projects. It might be possible using power shell as well but I never tried it.

    Hope this helps.

  • Yeah PowerShell will work but you will need to either use the PSI or CSOM. CSOM is only available in 2013. Or look at the SharePoint add-ins for PS 2013:
