Lost Domain Name RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a domain assigned to my home server: berryfamily.homeserver.com.  I had to reinstall WHS due to a disk issue.  Now I cannot find the Live ID that is associated with the berryfamily.homeserver.com domain.  I have tried all of the email addresses that I would have used in the past 5 years and none of them seem to have berryfamily.homeserver.com registered with them.  How do get my domain name back?

  • I doubt anyone here can help you. You probably need to go through Microsoft ... through their support or Microsoft Connect

  • Hi,

You need to use the live ID that you registered with to retrieve the domain name you previously registered.  You would have to contact Live Services to find out what your live ID was.

"This can be best addressed by Windows Live Technical Support Team. Here are the steps to contact them:

    1. Go to http://help.live.com/help.aspx?project=liveidv1&market=en-us
2 Select one of the help topics displayed on the left panel.
    3. Click Get more help at the lower-right corner of the window then click Get support.
    4. Complete the e-form and then click Submit
