OneCare Backup vs Vista Ulitimate Backup RRS feed

  • Question

  • What are the differences between OneCare Backup and Vista Ulitmate?  I have both and am thinking about using one of them for my weekly backups.
Key areas I'm interested in are:
    + Speed to backup
+ Ease of backing up (including options)
    + Ease of restore
+ Does it do a differential or complete backup each time
+ Ability to choose which files/directories are backed up
+ Ability to image entire drive
+ Ability to conduct a batch backup (several internal drives) to NAS

Right now I use SyncBack and have found it to be very easy and fast.  If I need to restore a file I can just browse my NAS and copy back.  My goal, however, is to stay within the MS Suite of available products for several reasons.

    Feedback is appreciated.

  • I totally agree and will suggest that you use the full PC backup feature in Vista Ultimate. It is a dream to use in the event of a system failure. ;-)
