  • Hmm - looks like you may have been using a registry 'cleaner' of some kind?

    I've uploaded a file - sluicom64.zip - to my OneDrive at  Noel's OneDrive

Please download and save it to your desktop.

Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...

Save it to the default location

This should create a file sluicom64.reg

right-click on the file, and select Merge

Accept the warnings, - you should then get a 'Success' message.

Close all windows, and reboot twice.

Run another MGADiag report, and post the results.

  • The installation is counterfeit.

The BIOS date is May 2012 - well after Windows 7 was withdrawn from sale by manufacturers - and the Product Key is of a type which is ONLY valid on machines which shipped with Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed.

The motherboard is a retail one and cannot support such a Key.

You need to reformat and reinstall using genuine media and Key

  • if thats true why is it only now saying so? its worked fine for years until now.

P.S. theres no way i'm reformatting.

  • It's probably worked up until now because an Activation Exploit was installed to bypass Activation requirements - it may have been damaged or removed either by your AV or by accident.

  • ok how do i repair the activation exploit/make it genuine.

and why does it still say i have a genuine copy?

  • Let me first apologise - I seem to have gotten my threads mixed up! - your license type is actually valid, being an OEM System Builder one (I could have sworn I read OEM_SLP previously!)

Having got over the embarrassing bit...

This problem is often simple to solve

    Tampered File: %systemroot%\system32\slui.exe|slui.exe.mui|COM Registration

To confirm that the problem is what I think it is, please run the following commands in an Elevated Command Prompt window and post the results.

    REG QUERY HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\TypeLib\{EE574957-4077-4AD6-8658-327C2C86C5AA} /S

    REG QUERY HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\TypeLib\{EE574957-4077-4AD6-8658-327C2C86C5AA} /S

    REG QUERY HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Classes\TypeLib\{EE574957-4077-4AD6-8658-327C2C86C5AA} /S

Here are some instructions to make life easier :)

    1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the ECP window), click on Start, All Programs, Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.

    2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on the highlight – select Copy. In the CP Window, click on the black/white icon at top left – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once.

    3) To copy the results... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit... 'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to paste it into your response.

  • That looks OK now - you should attempt validation using Internet Explorer, at www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate to check.

If you have any problems with validation, post back with a new MGADiag report.

  • hello? noel? are you still there?

  • Sorry - working too hard :(

The problem is different to the first one - and the news is not good.

The only times I have seen this error previously, it has been associated with fairly massive file corruption.

Lets see if yours is another...

Please run a full CHKDSK and SFC scan....

Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories

Right-click on the Command Prompt entry

Select Run as Administrator and accept the UAC prompt - the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up.

    At the Command prompt, type

     CHKDSK C: /R

    and hit the Enter key.

You will be told that the drive is locked, and the CHKDSK will run at the next boot - hit the Y key, and then reboot.

The CHKDSK will take a few hours depending on the size  of the drive, so be patient!

After the CHKDSK has run, Windows should boot normally  (possibly after a second auto-reboot) - then run the SFC.

SFC -System File Checker - Instructions

Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories

Right-click on the Command Prompt entry

Select Run as Administrator and accept the UAC prompt - the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up.

    At the Command prompt, type

    SFC /SCANNOW

    and hit the Enter key

Wait for the scan to finish - make a note of any error messages - and then reboot.

Upload the CBS.log file (compressed, please!) to your OneDrive or DropBox Public folder, and post a link - also post a new MGADiag report.

  • There weren't any error messages in the log - but the scan appeared to be doing a lot of work, nevertheless.

It obviously changed something, because we are now back to the original error again (so the same procedure again should work)..

Are you in the habit of using any system tweaks, or Registry Cleaners? these are known to cause this type of problem.

  • I'm not honestly sure - apart from trying the same initial fix again and hoping that it sticks, this time!

  • I'm game for that um . . . what was that again?

    Monday, November 13, 2017 12:13 AM
  • It was a while ago! :)

  • Well - that worked (again!), at least.

There are no remaining problems in your report.

  • MGA Diagnostic Report is Required:

To properly analyze, diagnose and solve problems with Windows Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the diagnostic report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012)

    Once downloaded, run the tool.

Click on the Continue button, after a short time, the Continue button will change to a Copy button.

Click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either Right-click or Paste, or CTRL+V) into your post.

  • This is exactly the same error as happened in September :(

    "I've uploaded a file - sluicom64.zip - to my OneDrive at  Noel's OneDrive

Please download and save it to your desktop.

Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...

Save it to the default location

This should create a file sluicom64.reg

right-click on the file, and select Merge

Accept the warnings, - you should then get a 'Success' message.

Close all windows, and reboot twice.

Run another MGADiag report, and post the results."

  • Should i just merge sluicom64.reg every time this happens instead of bothering you it seem to be a regular occerance

  • There's obviously something you're doing that is triggering this - it would be useful to find out what.

Are you in the habit of using any form of registry cleaner/optimiser? - even ones from reputable companies?
