I am trying to upgrade from Vista Ultimate, 32 bit to 7 Ultimate, 32 bit using a partner program supplied DVD (X15-84112).
The Installation keeps cancelling in the same place during the upgrade. During
Install Windows the upgrade is cancelled at the very begining of the
Expanding windows files stage of installation, after succesfully completing the Gathering files, & programs stage. The following message is then displayed: "Windows cannot install required
files. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart installation"
I have tried several things to fix this:
- Installing Latest vista updates,
- reducing the amount of RAM. (1GB recomended on a forum for upgrading 32bit)
- Disconnecting non essential external devices
I would appreciate any help so I can complete this installation.
