Multiple Remote Desktop Connections RRS feed

  • Question

  • The way I've instructed my users to start a job on the head node is to login to the head node, run a script which I've created, and follow it in HPC Job Manager. This worked well for a while.

Then, I realized that only two users may be logged in via remote desktop at once. My model no longer works.

Is there a way to allow more than two users to login remotely?

  • One of the solutions will be probably to install Remote Desktop Services role on your headnode.

However a better way will be to install HPC client utilities on user's machines and submit and monitor jobs directly from there. Will this work for you?

    Thanks,

  • Yup, agree with Lukasz, there's no need for your users to log into the head node to view the job's progress, they can do so with the Job Manager or the Cluster Manager (if they are cluster admins) from any other machine that can talk with your head node.
