POA Record bug RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have recently made a change from user ownership of records to team ownership of records.  After this change we noticed some odd behavior.  We have found that if you merge 2 accounts owned by teams the system will create 2 shares at the account level and then propogate down.

The first share is fine and is by design, the owning team of the winning account gets a share created for it and trickles down to all child records.

The second share is made to the owning team of the losing account and all child records.  However this poa record identifies the owning type as a user instead of a team.  8 instead of 9.

We are on RU11 currently and are planning on moving to 2013 in a few months, but was curious if anyone else had noticed this behavior.  I haven't seen mention of it anywhere else.

  • I have not seen this.

It makes sense that the 'winning' record is shared with both the original owner and the owner of the 'losing' record (as an implicit share) so that both owners still have access to the current record and all of its children, using cascading rules.

However, if both owners are teams, then identifying the wrong owner type does indeed sound like a bug.

    Hope this helps.
