Tomcat is an application server from Apache Software Foundation that executes Java Servlets and renders web pages which include java server pages(JSP) coding.Tomcat can be used as either a standalone product with its own internal Web Server or together with other Web servers.Tomcat is good choice  for use as a web server for many applications; also if you want a free servlet and JSP engine
