Windows 7 Home Premium not genuine

Question
-
Hi
After 6 months with no problems I know get the message "This Computer is not running genuine Windows" with an error code 08004fe21. I bought this copy from a respectable store and installed it on a new machine myself. I've checked the date and time (OK) and re-entered my product key.
We have installed our copy of microsoft works 2002 a while ago to use word for a couple of documents. This was previously installed on an older PC but this is the only PC it's installed on now. We tried to validate it but I'm guessing the microsoft site no longer supports online validation for this as we've not been able to? Could this have caused our problems?
I'd appreciate your help.

Office Genuine Advantage is no longer in use. It was deprecated by Microsoft several years ago. It does not affect Windows validation.
I suggest that you use System Restore to recover to a date prior to appearance of the error.
Be advised that OEM System Builder packs are not for end users. The SB license states that the software is only to be used to install Windows on a computer for sale to a third party. A person who builds his own computer is not a system builder as defined in the System Builder license. The correct license is retail. From the SB license,
'System Builder' means an original equipment manufacturer, an assembler, a refurbisher, or a software pre-installer that sells the Customer System(s) to a third party.

Hi
Thanks for the reply. I backed up my data and restored to a point a couple of weeks earlier, then windows downloaded and installed a critical update and the "This Computer is not running genuine Windows" message has returned. Ive re-activated online and by telephone and I see "Activation was successful" then a few minutes later the "..not ..genuine" message returns. It is rather frustrating. Any help would be appreciated. Error: 0x800700C1The only two times I have records of seeing this error messages, the problem required a repair install of the OS to fix.If you’re will to spend some time on it, then I’m happy to do so – otherwise I suggest that you prepare for a repair install by backing up your data to external media for safe-keeping, then do the repair. If you need instructions for a repair install, start here.
