Crm 4.0 - Territory in Opportunity View RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I'm having a bit of an issue pulling up the Potential Customers Territory.

I'm in the Opportunities under Sales and the default view is set to Open opportunities.

    I have the following filters:

Topic | Potential Customer | Owner | Parent Customer | Created on | Est. Close Date| Territory (Reseller) | Territory (Potential Customer) | Territory (Territory Code)

I added allll the territories that I can.. and I know for sure that all the Potential Customers are assigned to a territory.  Only about 10 out of the 100 let say will show the Territory.

Also, I can sort the view by all other tabs but Territories and Parent Customer(potential customer), any ideas on this?

Thank you very much in advance as always!

    Best Regards,

    -Anne

  • Hi Anne, to answer your first point I tested territories on one of our CRM 4.0 test systems. I added Territory (Account) to the My Open Opportunities view and then created a couple of test territories, accounts and opportunities. I created two opportunities: one linked to a potential customer account in the North territory and another linked to a potential customer account in the South territory.

Everything displayed as expected in the My Open Opportunities view.

If you can't see the territory for all potential customers in the opportunities you might want to check that:
    • All opportunities are linked to a potential customer
    • That the potential customers are all accounts (and not contacts)
    • That every account is linked to a territory
    • That no accounts have been deactivated and no territories have been deleted

With regards to your second point, unfortunately you cannot sort a view using a column from an associated entity. So you can sort opportunities by any of the opportunity column, but not any column from accounts associated to the opportunity.

    Regards, Neil
