Color gradients due to angular variation in reflectance RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am analyzing field experiments with relatively few plots (less than 50) based on vegetation indices derived from UAV images. In the beginning I cropped plots from the original images and found that there were gradients in brightness across images under sunny conditions. This was due to angular variation in reflectance with the brightest areas in the direction of the incident sun radiation and the darkest areas in the opposite part of images. Now I want to crop plots from mosaics, but Microsoft ICE seems to create color gradients in the mosaics, which makes vegetation indices unreliable. Is there a way to solve the problem?

     Kind regards,
