  • Question

  • After trying WHS, and then being greatly impressed, of course, can I just buy the F-----G software without being forced to genuflect to HP or some other hardware vendor, or MS for that matter?  And, if so, how much?  Do I get a key code so I don't have to destroy and abandon the trial setup and [wearily] start all over again?

Yes, you can buy the software from NewEgg for about $100 or less. You'll get a keycode with it, but you'll have to do a server reinstallation to add it in. You won't have to start over, but it may be worth it if  you do, less problems from fumbling with the servers software.

  • The full software (no time bomb built into the operating system) is available from e-tailers such as NewEgg and Amazon.

As for how to upgrade to the full version, see this FAQ post .
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

  • Thanks.  Since I know enough about the software to know it works, I think I will just buy it as suggested and do it once.  Thanks again.
