I have a problem with activating windows

Question
-
Ok well I bought my computer in the summer of 2005 for college and everything worked fine until the end of college and my computer started acting up and wouldn't download any updates or any Window's software because it said that I didn't have a genuine copy of Windows and that I needed to activate Windows. Now when I bought the computer it was already activated and I bought it from Dell so I don't think there is a good chance of the software being pirated. When I go to accesories-system tools-system info, it says that my activation is pending and 30 days are remaining. I ran the microsoft diagnostic tool and it said my windows is authentic and it came out with this

Hi osutrey,
Please follow the link provided by Dan. This should resolve your Not Activated issue.
If it does not resolve your issue, try the first step (below), if that step does not resolve, go to the next step...and so on.
Step 1) Go to http://www.microsoft.com/Genuine/diag/ and click the “Start Diagnostic" button. If the tool finds any issues, click the "Resolve Now" button. The tool will, most likely, resolve the issue on it's own or will provide you further instructions.
Step 2) a) Click 'Start' button, then click 'Run...'
b) In the Run window, Type: cmd <click OK>
c) In the command prompt, type the following command: regsvr32 /u licwmi.dll <press Enter>
Step 3) a) Click 'Start' button, then click 'Run...'
b) In the Run window, Type: cmd <click OK>
c) In the command prompt, type the following command: regsvr32 /u licdll.dll <press Enter>
Thank you,
Darin Smith
