TMP files in my documents folder

Question
-
I own a HP Media Smart Server EX-470 and stored all my files on the server, so I can access them when needed from any computer. I noticed that when working on thoses files, sometimes I get a few .tmp files which size is 0kb. Many times I delete them, but sometimes more are created. So, it is an endless loop. Is it a bug? I'm really concern about my data integrity. I know in the past before PP1, it was recommended not to work on files directly on the server specially with Excel or some other software. Is it still a bug? Any solution to solve this issue? I have PP2 and all updates instaled.
Thanks,

The creation of temporary (.tmp and other extensions) files by Microsoft Office is completely normal. These files can be left behind after closing the program in a number of circumstances. Please don't submit a bug report. For more information on the creeation of temporary files, see e.g. this Knowledgebase article.

Which file types are you opening on the server? What apps are you using to open those files?Wednesday, May 13, 2009 3:07 AMModerator -
Sorry, I forgot to mention the type of files. Mostly it's Excel and Word files.

I've opened Excel and Word files on my server occasionally (but not that often). You might try filing a bug report on Connect.Thursday, May 14, 2009 2:39 AMModerator -
