Azure certification Exam:70-583 vs Exam:70-487

Question
-
Hi,
I want to do an azure certification. I have gone through some of links & blogs for this.
Finally, I got two certifications related to azure. Exam:70-583 & Exam:70-487
I have 3.5 yrs. of experience in IT industry mainly with C#.Net & Azure Internals.
I am not sure which certification will be useful for my future endeavors & what is the difference between these two (Exam: 70-583 & Exam: 70-487) certifications.
Please let me know your suggestion.
Thanks in advance.

Microsoft offers two categories of exams; Those that are technical based (such as 70-487) and those that are Job-Role based (such as 70-583).
A technical based exam focuses on "How" to do stuff with a technology whereas a job-role based exam focuses on "Why, when and where" to do stuff with technology.
e.g. A technical based exam might ask "How to implement (code) IDisposable interface in a class?" whereas a job-role based exam might ask "Why and when you should implement the IDisposable interface".
Whether you should do exam 70-583 or 70-487 really depends on whether you want to be a developer or a designer. Given that you've had 3.5yrs experience as a developer, you should probably do 70-487 (and then maybe do 70-583 as I don't believe you can be a developer without knowing how to design - IMOA).

Hi Wharty,
Thanks for your clarity. I was also looking for the same.
Now, as per your input, It seems that both the exams are at the same level. just depends upon your work area, you should select those. but now,
- If I select 70-487 it will give me MCSD Certificate. while what certificate it will give me if i select 70-583 ?
- What would be the next certification (Up-gradation Path) in case of 70-583 ?
