XP activation error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I use VMWare and have access to MSDN downloads of various operating systems.  I use a virtual machine for client development and until last week it was fine.  Been running it on XP Pro for 3 years.  About a week ago I downloaded all the latest updates as I was doing some cleaning.  Today when I was ready to get back to work I was prompted for activation.  No problem.  Well, it will not get past it.  I get error 32777 when trying to activate it and I get nowhere.  I've tried everything suggested on the support.microsoft.com website that I can find and get no connection.  I have activated other XP virtual machines in the past with no problems, but I have also run into problem with a couple of them, that I never got resolved.  Since I have a lot of installs on this VM that I'd rather not have to move to a different VM I would really like to figure out how I can activate this.  All my OS installs come from MSDN so they are all genuine!

    Best regards,

    Arnor Baldvinsson,

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
