Installation of the Microsoft® Connected Services Framework® V3.0 Developer’s Lite RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

when i try to install this software, i get an error :

"Error 1609. An error occured while applying security settings. Users is not a valid user or group. This could be a problem with the package or a problem connecting to a domain controller on the network. Check your network connection and click Retry, or C..."

Looking through the net, i saw it is a problem with the install software needing administrator system on the network.

So i have two questions :

Is this software necessary to explore the sandbox technology ?
If yes, how to install it without giving it network root access ?

  • To explore the sandbox you don't need the developer lite version. If you plan to build composite apps using CSF in the sandbox, then you do need it.

I am not sure of a way to install it without admin access. Let me check with the dev team and get back to you soon.

  • Installation of CSF Developer Lite edition requires Windows XP and Local Admin privilege on the XP box. No domain privileges are required.
