How to find which CRM users are deleted from AD RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is it possible to find CRM users (from CRM) that are deleted from AD? In another words, if AD admin deletes user account from AD and does not remember to inform CRM admin, how CRM admin can notice that he/she should disable that account from CRM too? We have about 1000 AD users but only under 100 CRM users so it is not practical that AD admin(s) would inform CRM admin from every AD account AD admin(s) delete...

  • Hi Pauli,

A couple options, but none are out of the box.

Option 1 is to write a scritp such as a vbscript that loops thru your crm users and then checks that they exist in AD.  if they don't exist in AD then this script could either notify someone or even disable teh user in crm automaticaly for complete automation.

Alternatively you could manually do something like this every so often.

To query crm you can use crm's web serivces and to query AD you can use adsi.

  • Ok, has anybody done a script or program like that before? I am not keen to do something that can already be done. :)
