  • the computer was manufactured 6 months before Windows 7 was released, and has a BIOS SLIC table for Vista .

You will need either to purchase a Windows 7 Pro Full license to replace in the current install, or reformat and reinstall Vista, and then apply the proper Upgrade.

  • And i Cant uninstall the Activation from the KMS server? I MUST reinstall the OS?

  • You can only (possibly) move the activation to a Full license for Windows 7 Pro. Your current machine - unless you have a separate license for Win7Pro - is only licensed for Vista, unless periodically connected to the proper KMS server for re-activation.

  • You cannot simply replace the KMS with that OEM key.  You would need to reformat and reinstall Windows 7 using the original OEM Windows 7 Pro DVD disc.

  • Carey - the original OS on this machine is Vista - the OP would first have to purchase a valid Windows 7 license.

  • If you have a valid MAK license then you can use that - assuming you don't have a KMS Server. (This is the first time you've mentioned that the machine is connected to a work network!)

If you have a KMS Server, then ensure that the machine is connected to the network, and follow the instructions...

"Verwenden Sie zum Aktivieren und Aktualisieren von KMS-Clientinformationen "slmgr.vbs /ato", um die Werte zu aktualisieren."

If you don't have a KMS Server, change the Key to the MAK Volume License Key you have, using the Change Product Key option at the bottom of the System properties page (or use the command SLUI 3 in a CMD window) to the MAK one, and activate normally.
