What triggers an email to send? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Experts,

I have a workflow that creates an email when the current date matches a date in an opportunity.  Currently the email is being sent FROM the owner of the opportunity TO the owner of the opportunity (basically a reminder).

For some reason, some emails are being sent but others are stuck in pending send. Does anyone know what triggers the email to be sent? Does the owner of the opportunity need to log into CRM for the email to be sent? if so, is there a way I can send it FROM the system instead of a person?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Chad,

The owner of the opportunity doesn't have to be logged-in on CRM.

It generally happens when the workflow runs as one user but the email is sent as another user. You will have to provide teh "Allow other users to send emails on your behalf" in the Personal Options of user (Email's FROM user).

It is a good practice to use a single admin account that has the permissions set to allow emails to be sent by other users.
