Extra Login Required when Logging in on Windows 2008 Server RRS feed

  • Question

  • CRM 4.0 RU11

I have a couple of CRM installations for development purposes in my organization.  If I am operating directly on the server where CRM is installed and I open CRM, Windows prompts me for my login and password again.  If I access the same CRM system from any other computer on the domain, I connect properly.

The CRM servers are all Windows 2008 and also run SQL 2008.  The user account that I am logged into the Windows server IS a valid CRM user with system admin priveledges.

While this does not prevent me from working with the CRM system, it does complicate it a bit when I am trying to debug code as I have to login a second time.

    Thanks,

    Richard

  • In IE go to tools, internet options, security, trusted sites, custom level, scroll all the way down to the very bottom of the list and youwill see User authentication logon,  select Automated logon with current user name and password.

  • Have you added the CRM URL to the trusted sites and then set it up for automated login from IE?

  • Hi Jerry...I do have the server listed in trusted sites...but I am not sure what you meant by setting it up for an automated login from IE.  Could you point me in the right direction?

I also just discovered that if I connect to the instance using http://localhost, I don't get prompted for the additional login.  Technically this solves the issue, but I certainly would prefer to access it via http://<server> instead. \

    Thanks,
