How do I load Windows one care on a vista PC? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Our Windows one live care firewall was locking up.  We thought we would un-install the Windows Live one care and reinstall.  As we tried to re-install the one care it told us we had to install Windows XP service pack 2.  We have that disk.  We tried to install and it tells us we have to be the administrator.  We have checked and double checked and marked command as run as administrator and it still will not allow us to install the Windows XP service pack 2.  The laptop is running Vista.

Answers

  • To install One care on Vista don't use the CD.  Install the One Care trial - http://onecare.live.com/standard/en-us/install/install.htm To activate, open One Care, select "Subscribe" and when asked for a Live ID enter the Live ID and password associated with your subscription and One Care will activate.
